Hey hey hey! I hope this blog post finds you healthy. If you’re not quite there, then this post is perfect for ya. š
Fire Cider has gained popularity within the last few years, and with good reason. There are many different recipes out thereāand they’re all fantastic. This is the type of remedy you really can’t screw up once you understand the point of it. It’s super easy to make too, perfect for your home apothecary.

Fire Cider is meant to help boost our immune systems. You probably have seen tons of people, including me as you can see, talk about this during the colder months. Why? It’s perfect to help combat those winter sniffles.
Think of it this way: one of the purposes of Fire Cider is to work as a decongestant and help keep our sinuses cleared. In other words, expect this remedy to be spicy. Now, this can be achieved through the use of different types of veggies/root veggies which brings me back to what I originally mentioned where there are tons of different recipes.
Depending on what all you include, Fire Ciders can be anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and even antioxidant.

Some people love adding ginger and turmeric to their remedies, but in our case, we used some homegrown peppers that are spicy enough on their own that I didn’t want to make it too hot.
In our case, here’s what we used and why:
- apple cider vinegar (with mother)Ā – supports digestion
- 1 orangeĀ – antioxidant, vitamin C
- 2 lemonsĀ – antioxidant
- 1 limeĀ – antioxidant
- homegrown thyme – anti-microbial
- homegrown rosemary – anti-microbial
- homegrown white and green jalapeƱosĀ – rich in vitamins A&C
- homegrown onions – anti-microbial, helps regulate immune system
- 3 varieties of homegrown hot peppersĀ – high in vitamin C, antioxidant

Process:
- cut everything up and add it all to your container(s)
- fill the container(s) with apple cider vinegar
- let the jars sit for 4-8 weeks in a dark, cool place (like your pantry)
- strain and store in glass jars

Like I mentioned, this is one of the easiest remedies you can make. It’s one you can also take daily even if you aren’t sick. I did that last winter and I was able to rock winter! I started my days with 1 teaspoon in the morning as a “healthy maintenance” tactic.
If you are feeling under that wellness line, I would suggest starting with 1 teaspoon and then repeating as needed, 2-3 times throughout the day. If it’s too strong, you can most definitely dilute it with water. That’s totally okay!
Of course, I am not a doctor so this is NOT medical advice.

If you can’t make some, you’re in luck! I have some ready to ship. Woot woot!
These are now available on the shop for $10 each. To purchase yours, simply comment here over on the shop post.
